Jerusalem

A trip to Israel is not complete without visiting the holy city of Jerusalem. Even if it is not your first time in the city, there are many hidden spots to visit. 

Right upon arrival, the Old City and the wide variety of important sites in Jerusalem are enchanting and captivating with the Holy Basin, which includes the holiest places for the three monotheistic religions, being the focal point of this experience.

To ensure thorough understanding and to maximize its impact, the trip to Jerusalem can be initiated from a lookout in which the 3000-years history, structure, and complexity of the city will be explained. 

A trip to this mesmerizing city can be custom-made and planned for a few hours, half a day or a full day. 

Possible excursions:


1) We will begin the day at a lookout point in the Armon Hanatziv Promenade, drive towards Har Tzion and tour around the site which includes the Room of the Last Supper and King David's Tomb. Afterwards, we will make our way towards the Church of the Holy Sepulchre through the narrow streets of the Muslim Quarter and on the way have a short break in the Austrian Hospice. The trip will finish at the Jaffa Gate.


2)  We will begin the day in the Jaffa Gate and learn about its importance throughout the city's history. From there, we will proceed to a tour on the city's walls towards the Damascus Gate, from which we will view the Christian Quarter and the Notre Dame of Jerusalem. We will then make our way through the narrow streets of the Muslim Quarter and stop for a coffee or tea at the Austrian Hospice. Following this, we will progress towards the Church of the Holy Sepulchre via the Shuk's narrow passages and end the trip in the Jewish Quarter.


3) We will begin the day in the Jaffa Gate and then continue via the Walls of Jerusalem towards the City of David in which we will learn about its role in the Canaan Era. We will visit the ancient underground water tunnel which lead up to the Shiloah (Siloam) Pool. Following this, we will proceed via the Pilgrimage Road and reach the Davidson Center and the city's southern walls and from there we will continue and make our way towards the Western Wall and the Jewish Quarter. We will end the day at the Jaffa Gate- a long yet exciting and powerful experience.

1) Judaism- The Western Wall- the holiest site for Jewish people under the current circumstances, the Western Wall Tunnels, The City of David, and Mount Zion- David's Tomb. 


2) Christianity- The Church of All Nations (Basilica of Agony), Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Mount Zion- the Room of the Last Supper, and the Garden Tomb which is outside the old city's walls.


3) Islam- The Temple Mount and the Dome of the Rock, the Chain Street- Islamic Architecture. 


4) General: The Old City's Walls and Gates, the Austrian Hospice, Mount of Olives Viewpoint and the Armon

 Hanatziv Promenade. 


5) New City- Mishkenot Sha'ananim (first neighborhood outside the Old City Walls), the German Colony, Mahne Yehuda Market, the Israel Museum- Shrine of the Book and it other parts- arts and archeology.


6) Around Jerusalem- Ein Kerem, Herodium, Nebi Samuel
